Day 1

Group arrival in North Carolina!! Welcome!! Meet and Greet from a Jean
Wells Travel tour escort. A very warm WELCOME RECEPTION will be held
for you at the Winston-Salem Visitor's Center. A very special treat
will be here for you: KRISPY KREME DONUTS!!! ENJOY!!!
Check-in to your comfortable accommodations; freshen up; relax. Excellent
dinner in a historical restaurant with entertainment.
Day 2



After breakfast, you will enjoy a private tour of beautiful Reynolda
House; enjoy masterpieces of American art displayed in the gracious
American country home built in 1912-17 by Katherine Smith and Richard
Joshua Reynolds, founder of the tobacco manufacturing company. The comfortable
setting with original furnishings provides a relaxed atmosphere enjoyed
by thousands of visitors each year.
Stroll the beautiful gardens of Reynolda
Village; each person will have discounted shopping vouchers for
boutique and specialty shops in the Village. Depart for Old
Salem Mesda and Old
Salem's Toy Museum-one of the most authentic and inviting living
history towns in the United States-costumed interpreters carry on the
work of European and African American Moravians in the backcountry church
town and trading center of Salem. Visit the Winkler Bakery and take
home a very special treat baked in the wood-fired beehive oven.
Lunch on your own in beautiful Old Salem. A suggestion would be the
Salem Tavern---be certain to sample the Moravian chicken pie and the
delicious Pumpkin Muffins!! Yummy!! You'll be touring the buildings
on your own, and you will be eating at your leisure. (Choice of 3 restaurants)
Depart from Old Salem and head toward Korner's
Folly, "The Strangest House in the World"---and not
to be missed!! Twenty-two rooms on seven levels-the first private Little
Theatre-Ceilings from 6 to 25 feet. Though words can create an appreciation
of the uniqueness of Komer's Folly, there is no substitute for a leisurely
stroll through its singular wonders.
What a Day!!! Back to your comfortable accommodations-relax; freshen
up!!!

Day 3
..

After breakfast, depart for a very special day: The
Farmstead Revival!! Environmentally friendly farms that provide
the opportunity to experience farm life. Without question, one of the
most important influences in the historic and cultural development of
North Carolina has been the family farm. Three working farms have joined
together to create a wide variety of learning experiences.
THIS WILL BE ONE OF YOUR MOST SPECIAL DAYS!!!
Enjoy the Uwharrie Farm (an organic
vegetable farm), the Goat Lady Dairy
(a goat cheese dairy farm), and Rising Meadow
Farm (a sheep farm). Lots of hands-on experiences with the owners
of each of these farms.
You will enjoy a DELICIOUS lunch at the Goat Lady Dairy Farm that has
been prepared just for you. You will truly enjoy this day.
You will first visit the Uwharrie Farm-lunch at the Goat Lady Dairy
Farm- and finish your day at the Rising Meadow Farm---each stop will
be wonderful!!

must be booked far in advance, availability pending.)
Depart for Winston-Salem; relax---freshen up!! You will love dinner!!
Dinner will be at the HillBilly Hideaway! You are in for another very
special treat!!!
The cooks are hometrained. The food is rolled out on the carts. The
waitresses are the BEST---you will be served family style, all that
you can eat!! ENJOY!!! (We may get lucky and enjoy some music this evening
after dinner: Gospel, Bluegrass, or Country.)
Day 4



After breakfast, we are heading to Mrs.
Hanes Handmade Moravian Cookies Factory-the most delicious cookies
in the world. These cookies are made from an old family recipe handed
down for generations. Each cookie is rolled and cut by hand the same
way it was made a century ago. The flavor is literally rolled into the
cookies taste and see!! You will sample 6 delicious cookies: Ginger,
Sugar, Chocolate, Lemon, Butterscotch, and Black Walnut.
It is time for a tour of Shelton Vineyards-wine
and cheese tasting. Shelton Vineyards is a family-owned estate winery
located in Yadkin Valley. The Vineyard covers 200 acres, making it one
of the largest on the East Coast. Shelton cheeses is located on the
property offering a variety of delicious Artisan cheeses, using the
traditional methods. This wine and cheese tasting will be a definite
highlight for you!!
Depart for Mount Airy---Mayberry
Hotspots---and home of Andy Griffith. Time for lunch at Snappy's Grill!!
Try their delicious WORLD FAMOUS Pork Chop Sandwich---this is to die
for!!! Visit Floyd's City Barber Shop and visit the Andy Griffith Memorabilia
Museum. A very fun stop!!
Time permitting, on to the Lazy 5 Ranch;
this ranch features 400 animals from around the world. On your 3 1/2
mile safari through the gently sloping pasturelands, you will experience
animals from six continents. Be sure to bring your camera. There is
no other collection of animals like this in the Southeast. You will
ride on the back of a horse-drawn wagon, holding a bucket of food-the
animals will come up to you--- eat----and, slobber!! Enjoy!!!
Time to head back to Winston-Salem to relax-freshen up-prepare yourself
for another GRAND FEAST!!!

Day 5
Wave good-bye to Winston-Salem!!
Depart for Asheville---You will meet
your guide at the entrance to the beautiful Biltmore
Estate. You will enjoy the estate, the Gardens, and the Winery.
Lunch will be at the Deerpark Restaurant, on the grounds of the estate.
You will have some FREE time in Biltmore Village, before checking into
your comfortable hotel.
Depart for Hot Springs!!!
You will love this!! One hour will be spent in the mineral water tubs
at Hot Springs Spa- Dinner at the Magnolia Inn in Hot Springs.
Day 6


Off to Dillsboro, N.C.-for a fantastic ride on the Great
Smoky Mountain Railroad-a beautiful Fall Foliage ride through
the scenic mountains that includes a boxed lunch.
Time permitting, you will also visit the Basilica of Saint Lawrence,
The Folk Art Center, the Mast General Store or TS Morrison Mercantile.
Dinner and relaxation at Pisgah View Ranch.
Day 7

It is time to leave Asheville; depart for
Chinmey Rock Park; enjoy lunch On The Meadows in the Park.
Head toward
beautiful Savannah, Georgia. You
will begin with a guided CITY TOUR of Savannah's historic district as
it showcases its southern charm. Along the picturesque waterfront discover
cobblestone-paved Factor's Walk and River Street where old cotton warehouses
have been converted into shops, taverns and restaurants. An afternoon
LOW COUNTRY TOUR features TYBEE LIGHTHOUSE, the Thunderbolt shrimping
community, Bonaventure Cemetery, Victory Drive and Savannah's famous
palm-lined avenue of mansions and azaleas. Tonight, DINE in the famous
(and some say, haunted!) Pirate House.
Day 8
Beaufort / Charleston, South Carolina
Begin the day with a breakfast before departing for Beaufort, a picturesque
port that retains the atmosphere of an earlier day. Your step-on guide
will briefly show you the highlights including more than 100 homes dating
back to 1717. Many movies have been filmed here---The Big Chill, The
Great Santini, The Prince of Tides and Forrest Gump. After lunch, on
your own, continue to Charleston, for two nights. As you arrive, your
local guide will escort you through the evening enjoy DINNER at a local
restaurant featuring gracious Southern hospitality.
Day 9

Charleston / Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
After breakfast and a brief CITY TOUR, visit MAGNOLIA PLANTATION. This
500 acre estate was acquired in 1676 by the Drayton Family, whose heirs
still own it. Tour the Greek revival plantation house and the magnificent
grounds and gardens. A BOX LUNCH is included for you to enjoy as you
gaze at America's Oldest Garden, started over three centuries ago with
the wedding gift of a tropical plant. This afternoon travel north to
Myrtle Beach with its variety of entertainment and broad sandy beaches.
Check-in at your hotel for two nights and enjoy dinner on your own.
Day 10
Myrtle Beach
Begin with BREAKFAST, before a morning CITY TOUR of historic Myrtle
Beach. Stop for a visit at BROOKGREEN GARDENS, containing more than
500 sculptures by 19th and 20th century American artists. This afternoon
is free to enjoy-perhaps on the golf course, or on the beach, or just
relaxing. Tonight, gather for a farewell DINNER and an evening of ENTERTAINMENT
at Myrtle Beach's famous CAROLINA OPRY.
Day 11
Time to depart for home!! We hope you have had a lovely visit and will
return again and again!!!
