Day 1

Great Smoky Mountains Railroad:
Raft and Rail Excursion
This excursion has been offered for 15 years. Travel 22 miles by rail along
the foothills of the Smokies and up the Nantahala River Gorge. At the top of
the line join the professional team of Wildwater LTD Rafting for a 2 hour whitewater
trip down 8 miles of
The Nantahala River. A picnic lunch, changing rooms with hot Showers and transportation
back to the depot are all included. A full Day of activities in the Smokies.
Time allowing: Gem mining at the Smoky Mt. Mining.
Dinner at the Tee-Pee Restaurant in Cherokee.

outdoor drama in Cherokee. One of the most compelling outdoor dramas, Unto These Hills, tells the tragic story of how the Cherokee ancestors were forcefully driven out of the Great Smoky Mountains and marched 1200 miles to Oklahoma. |

Day 2
Hot Breakfast at the hotel.
Chimney Rock Park A privately owned park encompassing 1000 acres of natural mountain beauty. There are trails to walk on and waterfalls to view.

Guided hike in the Park.
Cookout on The Meadows in the Park.

Afternoon: Lake Lure Guided
Boat Tour Experience firsthand the unique beauty of the lake that National Geographic called one of the most spectacular in America. Lake Lour Tours will take you past locations for the blockbuster film: Dirty Dancing-past Snake Island-past acres and acres of unsurpassed Natural beauty, wildlife, and legend. |
Time on the beach and Water Park.
Return to Asheville.

Dinner at Pisgah View Ranch-family
style.
Located in the shadow of Mt. Pisgah, the atmosphere is friendly,
casual and the food is Southern home cooking.
Day 3
Hot breakfast at the hotel. Check out of the hotel.
Travel to Brevard, NC
| Today, the Cradle of Forestry in America is a 6500 acre historic site within the Pisgah National Forest set aside by Congress to commemorate the beginning of forestry conservation in the US. Outdoor activities include two guided trails which lead you back in Time to seven historical buildings, a 1915 Climax logging Locomotive and the old sawmill. | ![]() |
Brevard Music Center for lunch and
concert
The Brevard Music Center is a seven-week summer music-training program and festival
that provides unique opportunities for outstanding musicians to develop their
talents. Depending on the date, a free lunch concert is offered during the festival.
